Beam® Industries
was recently bought out by the Electrolux® Company and is now
part of the Electrolux® family.
The company,
which got its start in a 6,000 square foot building, expanded
eight times in its first 30 years, growing to occupy 40,000
square feet. In 1988, a 55,000 square foot plant was built to
house new equipment and more modern manufacturing methods as
well as the 49 employees who had helped Beam® develop its
leading position in the industry. In January 1989, White
Consolidated Industries, Inc. acquired Beam® Industries. R.L.
Sampson retired and John Coghlan was named President of the
division that would become the central cleaning specialists.
Today, as a result of the acquisition, Beam® is affiliated with
companies such as Frigidaire, Eureka and Husqvarna. Beam®
Central Vacuum Systems are attractive, affordable built-ins
that appeal to a range of homeowners as well as to the
commercial sector. A system consists of a combination power
unit/dirt collection receptacle, power brush and hose, and
cleaning accessories for whole-house cleaning. Pre-packaged
kits, a detailed installation manual and video make a Beam®
Central Vacuum System easy for do-it-yourselfers to install.
In addition to new homes, 95% of today's existing homes can be
retrofitted with a central vacuum system, with almost no mess.
Beam's®
success is the result of the work ethic and dedication of its
employees. Through their hard work, diligence and
determination, Beam®
Industries has become the world's leading manufacturer and
marketer of central vacuum systems. Offering a quality product
and having the best dealer support package in the industry
fuels the growth at Beam®.
