Wall inlets are small pieces of molded PVC usually where the hoses of central vacuum cleaners are inserted. These hoses usually have metal bands fitted at their end to accommodate the transition of the electrical charge. So role of these parts is well established, but they also have an aesthetic role which practically differentiates them. The Nutone inlets are suitable for all floors and meet all aesthetic needs, so their popularity does not comes as a surprise.

Some of the Nutone central vacuum inlets require the use of standard mounting brackets while some do not. The CI330 inlets made by Nutone, for instance, do. However, these additional parts must be purchased separately. These particular non-electric inlets come in two different versions, namely a white one and an ivory one, to match different decors and can be paired with a variety of hoses attached to vacuuming systems made by the same manufacturer. These include the CH230, CH235, CH515 and CH520 hose models. There is also a black version, but it is not claimed by Nutone. All Nutone CI330 non-electric inlets have a protective cover made of styrene and measure 3.5 inches in width, 5.2 inches in height and 0.5 inches in depth. These parts can also be found as 330W inlets, there also being 330B standard inlets made by the same manufacturer which have approximately the same characteristics.
Nutone’s offer also includes CI335 central vacuum inlets with low voltage terminals and discreet designs. The turn on/off system is automatic, so the vacuum cleaner goes into run mode whenever the hoses are attached, whether switched or unswitched. The covers of the CI335W inlets are also made of a material that can resist to shock and come in a white version. Their installation only requires a mounting plate and can be supported by any vacuum cleaner of the Nutone Advanced Series. As far as their dimensions are concerned, they are a little deeper than their 330W counterparts, their depth being set at 0.375 inches.
The Nutone 360W central vacuum inlets have the same compatibility range as the 330W ones, but their color palette is wider. It includes white, beige, ivory, almond and brown versions of the model, so these parts can be mounted on any light-colored wall. However, they cannot be installed without either a CF361 installation kit or a CF362 one. This requirement also applies to the CI370 inlets made by Nutone, which come in the same color except for the brown one. The compatibility range also includes all the systems in the Advanced Series while their dimensions are a bit larger than those of the 330, 335 and 360W models, their width being set at 3.75 inches, their height at 3 inches and their depth at 0.612 inches.
All Nutone central vacuum inlets share the fact that their status indicators use lead wires and do not need additional ones, but this is not their only common feature. The styrene cover can also be encountered with all the models mentioned before, so they are all equally resistant to shock, just like they are all extremely friendly to the settings they are placed in. Nutone designers are known to always aim for variety and their inlets prove it once more.
