The
Doc It Hose Automatic Retractor
The
Cana-
Hose by Doc IT is easy to install
and it only takes a few minutes! The
Retractor is designed to easily snap
apart so the hose can be placed into
contact with the drive mechanism.
Once the Doc IT hose is in place,
the Retractor snaps back together so
it can be positioned properly in the
Retractor Cabinet.
A
110VAC "power-in" operates the
retractor, a 110VAC "power-out"
operates the electric floor brush
and a "low-voltage" control for the
vacuum system source are all located
for easy plug-in to the retractor.

Hose by Cana-Vac
Use As Much Hose As
You Like - From 3 Ft. Up To 55 Ft.
Just By The Push of A Button
The
55' vacuum hose includes a
fitting (provided) for connecting to
the vacuum source line. This fitting
is glued directly to the 2" P.V.C.
vacuum line entering the Hose
Retractor Cabinet from the existing
central vacuum. Once the hose end is
snapped into place on the fitting,
the hose is loaded into the lined
storage area (cavity liner) and then
installed into the Retractor. With
hose installed, the Retractor is
inserted in the front opening of the
Retractor Cabinet, all plug-ins made
and slid to the right and snapped in
place. After drywall installation
and painting are complete, the front
cover door may be installed with the
door opening to the right. A rubber
snout cover is to be used on the
handle snout where multiple Doc IT
retractable hose management systems
are connected to the same vacuum
source so there will be a vacuum at
the next station.
Central
Vacuum Retractable Hose Q and A:
What type of carpet nozzles and/or
floor tools can be used with this
hose?
Any
carpet nozzle or floor tool can be
used with the Doc IT Retractable
Hose System including electric
carpet nozzles, unlike other
retractable systems that require air
driven tools. We strongly recommend
avoiding the use of air driven
nozzles such as the Turbocat Zoom,
Turbocat Ex, Miele Turbo Nozzle etc.
Air driven nozzles will perform
poorly due to the hose length and
the amount of air travel. Air driven
nozzles depends solely on the
strength of the vacuum unit. All
bare floor tools will work fine with
the Doc IT Retractable Hose
Management System.
Does The Hose Retract Electronically
or With Suction?
The Doc IT Retractable Hose
Management System has a fully
electric "push-button" retractable
hose which assures a constant smooth
in & out motion. Hose management
systems that use suction tend to get
stuck in the wall often during
retraction and can slow down with
the age of your vacuum. Also, many
other retractable systems use hose
sock covers which may get dirty and
prevent a smooth retraction when
using a suction geared system. Other
retractable systems that use suction
for retraction are very problematic,
due to a poor design that uses the
vacuum unit to retract. When the
hose is retracting it causes
turbulence in the piping, which
lessens the strength of the vacuum,
which may cause the hose to become
stuck. This can be a very
frustrating process.
What Are The Chances of The Doc IT
Hose Clogging?
Any central vacuum hose is capable
of clogging, however the Doc IT
Retractable Hose Management System
is virtually impossible to clog due
to its 1.44 inch interior diameter.
One of the largest diameter hoses on
the market which prevents hose from
clogging. In the event that the hose
clogs, the 1.44 inch interior
diameter makes it very easy to
"snake" out.
