The Hayden Group of companies (Hayden
Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Hayden Industries Ltd. and Hayden Park Ltd.)
can trace their histories to 1972, when Ted Hayden first started
selling vacuums door to door near his home in Abbotsford, BC. Through
determination and an understanding of customer needs, Ted quickly
enlarged his business. Striking out on his own, Ted first opened a
store and warehouse location in Richmond, BC and by the late 1970s
became the world's largest dealer of central vacuums.
The first major
expansion was in 1986 and centered around the purchase of our Richmond
BC premises, which now houses 40,000 sq. ft. of injection molding
facilities. While Hayden effectively serviced 80% of the world market
for vacuum fittings from this west coast facility, an increasing
demand for our products in the east and Europe precipitated the
formation of a custom injection molding company in Brantford, Ontario
in 1988.
A Healthy
Home
Most people vacuum to remove visible dirt and to create a cleaner
looking home. But not all vacuum cleaners are created equal. While all
vacuums do remove dirt from carpets and other surfaces, most of the
canister and portable systems redistribute finer particles back into
the living environment. If you use a central vacuum system instead of
these conventional types, you will clean your home more thoroughly and
create a much healthier environment for yourself and your family.
The
central vacuum cleaner is one of the most important tools for
expelling pollutants, including harmful allergens such as dust mites
and their minute droppings. Regular thorough cleaning of carpets,
mattresses, upholstered furniture, curtains and drapery will reduce
the dust mite allergens in your home. To prevent the recirculation of
harmful, microscopic particles, the central vacuum cleaner should be
vented outside the home. The agitation and air flow created by your
vacuum's power head or attachment to clean you surfaces causes a huge
number of minute dust mite dropping to be drawn into it. The key is to
prevent their reentry into the living environment in smaller, more
dangerous forms. Bags and filters have some effect, better when these
devices are new and clean, but they do not come close to matching the
effectiveness of an externally vented central vacuum cleaner.
Facts about the Hayden central vacuum
systems:
• Power unit is located outside the
living area
• Fine dust particles are vented outside
• No recirculation of house dust into the living areas
• Reduces the level of dust mite droppings; a known cause of asthma
• Expels other contaminants and gases outside the living areas
