How long do Miele bags last?

To explain how long a Miele Vacuum bag last and why you should not reuse them; you first have to understand why these bags are different from any other vacuum bags you may have bought in the last ten years.

Miele’s 3D Airclean filter bags come with a spring-loaded, self-sealing collar built into the bag. This feature allows the bag not only to seal itself when you change it but also seals around the neck of the canister lid while in use. The Airclean filter bags also offers a 9 ply construction, along with 3D filtration, traps, and filters progressively smaller and smaller until 99.9% of all particles are filtered through all eleven stages of filtration. Simply put, fine dust and lung-damaging particles cannot escape again into the air. These bags are also punctured resistant as they are built with protective netting that prohibits the bag from tearing due to sharp objects; for example, glass fragments.

With all these features to consider, let us now look at how long these vacuum bags last. The answer is a vacuum bag has to be changed when it is about 3/4 full or there has been a noticeable drop in suction. If you are vacuuming 2 – 4 days a week picking up dirt heavy soil your bag should be changed once a week, depending again on the quantity vacuumed. For vacuuming lightweight materials such as pet hair, the bag will fill before you observe any change in suction.
