Electric Power-head And The Difference Between Miele Power-heads

What is an Electric Powerhead?

miele canister vacuum with power headBefore we delve into the various models of Miele power-heads, let us find out something about power-heads in particular. Power-heads, also referred to as Beater Bars, are the most effective way to clean your carpets, and 30 years earlier, most households were mostly carpeted, generally, with high pile, shag carpets, power-heads would be the only appropriate option to clean the carpet effectively.

The most common types of vacuums back used in the past were upright vacuums, all of which were fitted with electric powerheads.

What Does a Power-head Do?

Quick answer, they shake and grab. The friction allows the soil and the dust to fall loose from the carpets and make their way to the piles' top, where the suction takes over. Often, the bristles on the roller brush take up the hair that usually sticks to the rug by winding it around the roller brush. To this day, a power-head is the perfect way to deep clean carpets and surface rugs.

What is the difference between Miele Power-heads?

Miele offers three main models of  powerheads for various vacuum models including;

Miele SEB 217-3 Electric Powerhead.

This Power-head has been there for a long time and has proven to be robust and effective. This power-head has a 0.5 Amp motor, a Chevron Style Agitator brush, and medium-length brushes that make this power-head ideal for any form of carpet or area rug. The vacuums below Miele are fitted with the  power-head:

  • Miele C2 Cat and Dog Compact
  • Miele Complete C3 Total Treatment
  • Miele CX1 Blizzard Cat and Dog

Miele Seb 228 Electro Plus Powerhead.

Second, this power-head has a 1.6 Amp capacity motor, the Broad Chevron type roller brush with short bristles, built to produce much agitation on the rugs, and most notably, it has five adjustable height settings. At Setting 1, the power-head is nearest to the rug pile and causes the most agitation, whereas, as at Setting 5, the power-head lies at the top of the rug pile where the least amount of agitation is needed, e.g., on fine surface rugs or maybe high, loose pile rugs. Just one variant of this model is fitted as a standard tool for this power-head: Miele Full Cat and Dog C3.

Miele Seb 236 Electro Premium Powerhead.

This is the top-of-the-line model and is only used with the Miele Top-of-the-line vacuum. It has a 1.3 Amp generator, the same chevron-type agitator brush as the SEB228. Still, it has two other features, one of which is the front LED lights and, more notably, the anti jam mode; the power-head can immediately shut off as soon as it detects a jam, such as a rug or an area rug.

This Power-head is only used as a regular tool in the model; Miele complete c3 power plus. At Think Vacuums, we store a host of numerous Miele vacuum powerheads and more vacuum cleaning products. You can reach out to us today at Toll Free 1.800.322.2965.
