The Central Vacuum Inlet Valve Extension is a white male-to-female coupling specifically designed to have low internal surface friction for air handling use in central vacuum system applications. This fitting extends the distance allowed between a wall inlet and the mounting plate. This fitting is to be used in instances where the wall and/or sheet-rock is thicker than normal.

This central vacuum Inlet Valve Extension provides a solution in situations where the wall inlet valve is located at a distance from the mounting bracket and cannot reach it. Such situations usually occur because of an increased thickness of the walls.
The function of the Central Vacuum Inlet Valve Extension
The Inlet Valve Extension provides an additional spacing of approximately 1 inch between the face plate tube and the O-ring of the mounting bracket to allow the connection of the two. Thus, it also ensures a proper seal. As expected, the use of longer screws may be required because of the additional spacing between the two pipe fittings. It should also be noted that the spacing can be adjusted according to the needs by joining several such installation components together.
Designed as a male-to-female fitting, this central vacuum Inlet Valve Extension measures 1 5/8 inches in length and comes in a white finish. Its composition is PVC, which makes it not only resistant to corrosion or rust and highly durable but affordable as well. Another advantage lies in the smooth internal surface of the pipe fitting, which keeps the friction occurring between the air and itself within low limits. Thus, the airflow during various applications of the central vacuum system is improved, remaining steady at all times. The airflow is not reduced too much as a result of friction between the air and a rougher internal surface. However, this problem is eliminated completely with pipe fittings made of polyvinyl chloride.
