Hide-A-Hose Installation In Existing Homes
How Does Hide-A-Hose Work?
The Hide a Hose Retractable System retracts the hose into PVC pipes concealed within the walls of a building, totally out of reach, using the suction force of a central vacuum unit. To use, simply remove the required amount of hose from the inlet valve, add a wand and cleaning accessories, and you are equipped to vacuum.
Also every inlet valve can accommodate a 50' hose with a coverage area of up to 2,300 sq ft. This results in fewer inlets being used, which saves time and makes cleaning a greater convenience.
Homes with Central Vac
In general, we install 50-foot valves in all locations of solid floor surfaces. A modern HAH valve consists primarily of a wall inlet and a pipe run to the cellar or basement, attached to the existing pipe route. The existing suction tank's power is usually adequate to retract the central vacuum hose into the pipe run.
Homes without a central vacuum system
Hide-A-Hose would be roughed in on all newly completed houses. Unfortunately, since the new pipe network has very few elbow contacts, converting internal central vacuum valves to HAH is impractical. HAH ties are longer and more sweeping, lowering pressure and enabling the hose to move freely when it retracts.
We're excited to see what the Hide-A-Hose Retractable Central Vacuum Hose System will do with any customer's vacuuming experience. When you use this easy, common-sense vacuuming solution, you'll never have to deal with another cable or hose again. It can be installed at any time and placed in homes that already have a central vacuum system.

suction retracts the hose.
The electrical cable is the most common complaint with normal vacuuming, and the hose is the most common complaint with central vacuuming. When homeowners check out Hide-A-retractable Hose's central vacuum hose, it soon becomes a "must-have" device.
There's no need to wrap the cord or store the hose, and there's no need not to get the job done right away because it's too easy. Open the inlet flap, take out some length of hose, and vacuum again.
When done, the suction itself retracts the hose through the vacuum pipes, eliminating the need for moving parts in the wall or device, leading to tear and wear. Hide-A-Hose is accessible in lengths of 30, 40, 50, and 60 feet.
One 50-foot Hide-A-Hose spans approximately 2,300 square feet, requiring fewer inlets than a conventional central vacuum installation that uses a 30-foot hose. The Hide-A-Hose Retractable Hose System can be used in new buildings and existing properties with or without a central vac system. Normal vacuum pipes and longer sweep elbows are used in the installation, which fits well into 2x4 walls.
For regular washing, Hide-A-Hose employs powerful RF controls and air-powered equipment. If required, homes with wall-to-wall carpet will have both Hide-A-Hose and standard vacuum inlets. For improved wall-to-wall carpet washing, conventional electric inlets control beater brush, and an electrical hose.
Other Hide-A-Hose Alternatives:
Many businesses have tried their hand at working with central vacuum hoses over the years. None, in our view, have come close to the features of Hide-A-Hose, but here are some of the others. Cubby Vac has a motor and hose at each inlet valve position. When completed, the wall has a wide footprint.
It exhausts back into the room instead of outside as a true central vacuum does. Another has seen several owners and name changes. Vacs America manufactured the Hose Genie, which Hoover also offered, and Canavac branded it as the Doc-It Vacuum.

Most of these retractable hose mechanisms are more costly than Hide-A-Hose and, despite being in the industry for a period of time, have been unpopular. They necessitate a large, bulky hose and lack much of the simplicity that they sought.
